A Sweet Tradition
Born in Washington Parish
Come celebrate our Parish with us. The Washington Parish Watermelon Festival has long been a cherished part of life in Franklinton, Louisiana. With a proud history of growing some of the best watermelons in the region, Washington Parish uses this special weekend to honor its agricultural roots and celebrate one of Louisiana's most treasured summer traditions.
From July 11 to 13, thousands will gather at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds for free, family-friendly fun featuring live entertainment, watermelon contests, a rodeo, car show, and take in the most vendors our Festival has ever had. Come experience the warm hospitality that makes Washington Parish so special.
